Summary
Somewhere in England, there was a stingy, mercenary and not friendly person named Scrooge. Because of that, no one greeted him and no beggars asked for his charity. He also didn’t like to celebrate Christmas.
On the Christmas Eve, Scrooge had his dinner in a tavern then he went home to sleep. Suddenly, the ghost of his dead friend, Jacob Marley, appeared before him. I told him about his punishment because he was greedy and selfish when he was live. It told him to repent so that he wouldn’t wear the long heavy chain and traveled to whole world all the time when he dead liked Marley. It also told that he would be haunted by three ghosts so that he had a chance to escape from the fate that liked Marley’s fate. After it disappeared, Scrooge fell asleep instantly.
After that, Scrooge awoke before the first ghost came. The first ghost was the Ghost of Christmas Past. It was like shining child. It took Scrooge to his past life. He could watch the life when he was in school with his sister, when he was apprenticed in a warehouse owned by a good man that made young Scrooge could celebrate Christmas happily, and when the girl that he loved broke their relationship because he loved money more than her then she married with another man. He was very sad and couldn’t bear his sadness so he begged the ghost to take him home.
When he awoke again, the second ghost appeared. It was the Ghost of Christmas Present. It was a glorious giant ghost. It took Scrooge to watch how many people celebrated Christmas. Then he knew that although his relatives hated him, they still prayed for his happiness. He was very touched by them. Then he started to think about other people.
After that, the third ghost came. It was the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come. It was very scary black shadow. It took Scrooge to watch what other people did when he was dead. No one cared about the dead Scrooge. Then he promised that he would appreciate and celebrate Christmas, so that he could get other better future than he had watched.
When Scrooge awoke on the morning, he was very happy because he was still alive. Then he became a very kind, friendly and generous man to other people. He also celebrated Christmas happily with other people.

What is the major conflict in the story?
The main conflict of this book is Scrooge versus himself. He is stingy and not generous. He doesn’t care about other people. Then Marley’s ghost and the three ghosts try to change him into a good person.

How does the story end?
-Scrooge becomes a kind, generous, and friendly man. He helps other people and doesn’t be selfish again. He also celebrates Christmas happily with other people because he can appreciate Christmas.

We must care to other people and don’t be a selfish person.
